AGORA

Agora (2020) dir. Krister Persson

Melvin, a flora-enthusiast, has Agoraphobia: a paralyzing fear of the outside world and social interactions. He can only find solace in his house plants, but when he receives an enticing gardening flier about the flower of the month, he is forced to venture outside to his yard in hopes of snagging the ultimate plant.

Krister Persson wrote, directed, shot, and edited Agora under COVID-19 social-distancing quarantine restrictions and with an extremely limited budget.

Director's Statement:

My hope with Agora is to tell a positive story about the importance of stepping outside of your comfort zone and connecting with others while also hitting on a subject matter that is important to a lot of people right now in a world of social distancing and isolation. It is a film reflecting (and made within) the restrictions of our times that I hope resonates with audiences' current conditions and emotions.
